Energy efficiency management is crucial for any industrial operation. It can account for a significant portion of a company's expenses and it has a substantial impact on the bottom line. Monitoring energy usage allows companies to identify opportunities to improve their energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and, consequently, save on costs. Similarly, failing to forecast energy accurately can result in unplanned downtime or inadequate energy supply, leading to compromised production schedules and potential equipment damage. Effective industrial energy monitoring provides several benefits that enhance energy efficiency, improve equipment performance, and reduce energy costs. These benefits include:
See how -in this use case a CPG company saves 15% on their energy bill on a 200 MW operation and reduces their carbon footprint by monitoring energy consumption, quality, and power factor.
The benefits of industrial energy monitoring are clear, and companies that invest in this technology will see significant returns on their investment. If you are ready to take the next step don't hesitate to schedule a demo now.

In today's rapidly evolving business landscape companies are under constant pressure to stay ahead of the competition by streamlining their operations, reducing costs, and improving efficiency. One way to achieve this is by leveraging technology to drive innovation and optimize processes. To shed light on this topic, we asked our Javier Schiavi our very own Director of Operations at Webee to share his perspective on the industry. Javier has an extensive background in manufacturing and today, we asked him to share his experience in the industry, what led him to join a tech IIoT company , and the ways in which technology help organizations improve operations and reduce costs. What is your experience in the industry, and what led you to join an Industrial IoT company like Webee ? I worked for more than a decade as an Engineering lead and Maintenance Manager in various manufacturing companies and in 2013 I joined Colgate Palmolive on its manufacturing plant in Argentina as Plant Engineering Manager. My role has always been linked to operational efficiency, monitoring OEE and making sure we had the operation under control and guarantee the efficient use of resources. When I learned about Webee, I saw the how this type of technology was a game-changer helping organizations in the key area where they needed help the most. I wanted to be part of it, making sure I help create solutions that move the needle for manufacturers around the world. What are the main challenges you find for manufacturing companies? The main challenge has always been to produce at the lowest possible cost and in the shortest time. This also translates into avoiding losses guaranteeing the current functioning of the infrastructure. In today's rapid changing environment, is not just about the technology that you implement but also companies need to look at many other aspects such as, how easy it is to implement, how fast can that technology help your organization adapt to ever changing environments, how well it involves the front line workers amongst others. This makes organizations consider alternatives to traditional solutions that can help them optimize purchases and logistics, and reduction of losses or waste. In multinational companies, the environmental factor (minimum use of water, energy, zero waste, etc.) becomes very important. What is the role of technology in an industrial environment, and how can it help companies improve their operations and reduce costs? Technology contributes by helping control some of the most important areas such as in machines and production: higher productivity, optimizing available resources, reducing materials (for example, digitizing paper forms, using QR codes, software for logistics, purchases, etc.), reducing absences due to chronic injuries or routine work (for example, implementation of COBOTs), and automating routine tasks or tasks that require heavy lifting. Technology is a key ally to not just deliver value but also continue to transform and adapt as organizations move toward sustainability and face global challenges such as the pandemic or the supply-chain shortage. How does Webee differ from other platforms on the market? I think the plug & play multipurpose platform is the right unique approach, where a large number of non-intrusive wireless devices can be easily installed, allowing for the monitoring of Legacy equipment as well as the collection of data from installed sensors, data loggers, and PLCs - all of which can be managed and monitored on a single platform. This provides a 360-degree visibility of the entire company at a very low cost. The ability to implement fast and also aggregate data points without costly implementations is key. Technology can greatly enhance the productivity and efficiency of industrial operations which is crucial for companies aiming to reduce costs and stay competitive.
Webee's software solutions are designed to help businesses leverage technology and optimize their operations. If you're looking for ways to improve your company's productivity, consider taking the next step and exploring what Webee can offer. Digital twin technology is a powerful tool for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of industrial processes. A digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical system or asset, which can simulate, analyze, and optimize its behavior in real time. Digital twins have the potential to revolutionize the way that industries operate, by providing insights and solutions to complex problems that were previously difficult or impossible to solve. In this post, we will explore the concept of digital twins and how Webee's software's newest release is helping businesses create, visualize, and monitor their digital twins. What are Digital Twins? Digital twins are virtual representations of physical assets, systems, or processes. They are created using data from sensors, cameras, and other sources of information that capture the real-time performance of the physical asset. For example, a digital twin of a wind turbine can be used to simulate its behavior under different wind conditions, to optimize its efficiency, and minimize downtime. A digital twin of a manufacturing process can be used to simulate the impact of different variables on the quality of the product, to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the process, and to optimize the use of resources. Digital Twins in Webee's platform Taking the wind turbine example, you’ll be able to see how quick and simple it is to create, visualize and set alerts for any asset inside of our software. Take a look at the 2-minute video that shows you the end-to-end process. Click on "Read More" for the step-by-step breakdown: Read More
Step 1: Creating the Asset and its basic information To create a new asset, simply click on the “create new asset” button and fill in the basic details as shown:
Step 2: Setting up the asset’s key attributes Here’s where we’ll define the key variables that will compose our digital twin. In this case, we’ll be monitoring Engine Temperature (ºC), Acceleration (X,Y,Z in m/S), Ambient Temperature (ºC), Ambient Humidity (%RH), and Smoke Detection (Obscuration/meter). Step 3: Defining Data Sources Each of the asset’s variables can come from a plethora of sources. For our use case, we will gather the data from three LoRaWAN sensors:
Step 4: Defining normal operating parameters Once our sensors and units of measurement have been properly set up, we can quickly establish minimum/maximum operating thresholds for each variable. In this case:
Step 5: Customizing data visualization With everything set up, a variety of visualization options are available for each variable such as different kinds of charts (line, bar, pie) as well as badges and historical log components that are readily available out of the box. Step 6: Creating alerts Creating alerts that can be sent out via SMS, Email or HTTP is a breeze. Set up triggers with just a few clicks and begin sending out alerts to any stakeholder immediately. Ready to get started with Digital Twins? With Webee's software, businesses can optimize performance, reduce costs, improve safety, and enhance productivity, unlocking the full potential of digital twin technology. Our team of experts is always ready to tackle the greatest challenges in the industry. Reach out to us for a demo today.
